TeamSpeak comms in a CS2 demo
How to record your team's TeamSpeak 3 comms and listen to them alongside the match demo in Vantag: every player gets their own track, synced to the rounds. Listen alone or with the whole roster in a room. Requires a Team or Org plan.
The whole flow, in short
- Install the Vantag plugin for TeamSpeak 3.
- Link the plugin to your account with the code from TeamSpeak.
- Set a hotkey for the marker: Tools → Options → Hotkeys → Add → Show Advanced Actions → Plugins → Plugin Hotkey → Vantag Voice Capture → "Vantag: метка времени в записи голоса" (voice recording time marker).
- Start recording before the match.
- At the start of the first round's freeze time, press the hotkey to drop the marker.
- Stop recording after the match. It uploads to Vantag on its own.
- Upload the match demo: your own .dem file or a match from FACEIT.
- Attach the recording to the demo. Processing happens on the server, so you can close the page.
- Check that the comms line up with the demo, and adjust them using the marker or the offset if needed.
- Listen to the comms over the demo, or review the match with your team in a room.
Why the marker hotkey matters
A CS2 demo has no real-world clock, so Vantag can't tell on its own where in the TeamSpeak recording the match starts. The marker shows that point: Vantag lines it up with the start of the first round's freeze time, and the comms match the demo across every round right away. Without a marker you'd have to find the offset by hand. And a Windows system sound after the press confirms the recording is running.
